ISRO successfully test cryogenic engine of GSLV Mark 3 rocket

ISRO successfully conducted hotbed test of indigenously developed high-thrust cryogenic engine (CE20) of GSLV Mark 3 rocket for upper stage > it uses Liquid Hydrogen at -253 degrees C and Liquid Oxygen at -193 degrees C as propellants which generates power of around 2 MW > developed indigenously by Mahendragiri based Liquid Propulsion System centre (LPSC) > GSLV Mk3 is important for launching heavier satellites into geosynchronous orbit i.e. 4 tonne plus > India sith after US, Russia, the European Space Agency (ESA), China and Japan to develop a cryogenic engine.

Scientists have discovered five new Jupiter-like planets similar in characteristics to it > designated as WASP-119 b, WASP-124 b, WASP-126 b, WASP-129 b and WASP-133 b > all orbits close to their host stars and hot compared to Jupiter > discovered by researchers of UK using Wide Angle Search for Planets-South (WASP-South) instrument > radii 1-1.5 times of Jupiter and orbital periods from 2.17 to 5.75 days, masses 0.3-1.2 times of Jupiter etc.
